Amazon.com Review
The high-quality Contemporary Nonstick line of cookware is designed to meet the needs of busy families while offering the high-quality construction associated with the Calphalon brand. These pots and pans offer a stylish, attractive look while making cooking and cleanup for family meals or special occasions easy and low-stress. Contemporary Nonstick cookware replaces Calphalon’s original and highly popular Professional Nonstick II line--but with improvements to make it even better. The most obvious enhancement is in the versatile rounded and flared design of the pots and pans. This design makes a single pan suitable for various cooking techniques and provides better access for pouring and stirring. Also convenient is the capacity line on these pots and pans, which helps prevent cooks from overfilling them.
This 5-quart saucier cooks a hefty amount of food and is an excellent example of the Contemporary Nonstick line’s versatility. With its high sides, flared rim, and two handles, this pan is equally ideal for simmering a beef and tomato ragu on the stovetop or baking a macaroni-and-cheese casserole in the oven. The pan’s exterior is made of hard-anodized aluminum for superior heat distribution. The interior is coated with a nonstick surface that is resistant to peeling, chipping, flaking, or cracking. This pan has ergonomic brushed stainless-steel handles that stay cool to the touch on the stovetop and are riveted to the pans for durability. The lid is tempered glass--for viewing food as it cooks—encircled by a stainless-steel band that complements the cookware and fits snugly into the rim. All Contemporary Nonstick cookware is oven-safe up to 450 degrees F and is covered by a lifetime warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde

Love that Calphalon Contemporary!![]()
Very pleased with my Calphalon Contemporary pots. This 5 quart variety is a nice size for chili, stew, small roast, etc. Cleans up great. Like the fact that it works on stovetop or oven. Great cookware!
calphalon contemporary 5 qt. saucier![]()
I really am enjoying cooking with my pot. It is everything I expected. I also have a 4qt. saucier, a 5 qt. dutch oven, & an 8 qt. I really enjoy my calphalon pots!!!!!!!!!
The best pan you'll ever buy![]()
I have had my saucier for 2 years and use it constantly. It is so versatile - brown the meat, make the sauce and add the rice or pasta - voila! It is great for so many recipes. It is deep enough to hold a big recipe but useful for smaller meals also. Clean-up is a breeze. Plus, I use it so often that it generally is put back to work before it can get stored in the cabinet. You will love this pot! When you get a special price, buy several for gifts! I watch the price on this frequently because I have family and friends I want to give this too.
I have had this for some time, and it is a tank. The reviewer below was right when he said that if you only own one pot, make this it. Sauces, stews, chili, jambalaya, roux-based dishes. This can handle it. I've used it to boil pasta, in a pinch. It is also great in the oven. It is a champ at braising. At 200 degrees in the oven, sealed, it does the work of a crock-pot -- maybe better, because the oven heat carmelizes the food. I am so glad I own one!
